Alex – Thursday, April 13th

Hey everyone, today I got to join on a out of studio video shoot with Karim Ayari, a work partner of of Jim’s that also has an office at Jim’s location. Karim is the owner of SplitKlips (www.splitclips.com).

I got to the studio for 9:20am today so Karim and I can get to our shoot location at the University Of Ottawa and get everything to get ready to film at 10:15.

During the shoot I didn’t do much of the actual filming but I got to help with the framing of the camera by sitting in place of the interviewee, to get the camera ready for the actual shoot but I still got to see how a videographer and a photographer works in a professional setting and it was interesting to see how the workflow was and how they planned things.

Karim produces a kids’s show called Flora’s Magic Toolbox on YouTube – this is his main set.

We got back to the studio at 2pm, I took time to eat my lunch once back and then started the continuation of my tasks. I continued the editing process on some of the pictures that I took yesterday and Jim showed me some alternations of our studio setup that will make things convenient like the green screen lightings and some modifications to the camera crane.

Lastly today, Andrew came into the studio to work on some things and I showed him some of the pictures that I took of the board game segment that to shot and edited yesterday.

Like this one.
